Evolving from the Hybrid Tourer Concept, the ATC has been unveiled at the Tokyo Motor show as a preview to an upcoming wagon that will have ‘superior driving performance and utility’. The sleek wagon body, aggressive stance, front scissor doors and rear suicide doors combine for an incredible look, which continues into the stunning cabin. Leather seats, wood and metal trim, floating center console and built-in display on the steering wheel are the standout interior features. A large grille, LED headlights, panoramic glass roof, carbon-fiber diffuser, dual exhaust and a roof-mounted spoiler are highlights of the exterior, while under the hood the ATC uses a 1.6-liter 4-cylinder direct-injection boxer gasoline engine mated to an in-house AWD hybrid system and a CVT transmission. Subaru are holding back on the specifics for another day, but the electric AWD system can be used at start-ups and low speeds.
