There was a traffic snarl up along Namanga road near the Athi river junction following an accident that occured Thursday morning.
One person died on the spot while three others sustained serious injuries. The accident involved a trailer and a water supply canter.
Witnesses say the canter driver was overspeeding and ignored a signal from the trailer which was trying to negotiate a bend. The driver of the canter is among those who succumbed in the accident.
The accident scene is a known black spot with traffic police reporting that hardly a day passes without an accident occurring.
