Mobius Motors finally releases the much awaited 5-seater Mobius II in to the Kenyan market.

The Mobius II is the company’s second prototype following up on the initial Mobius I.

The original Mobius, manufactured in 2014, had no flashy dials, alloy wheels or electric windows, and retailed at Ksh. 950,000 ($9,314) before taxes.

The newly released vehicle has a 35cm ground clearance with a rated load capacity of 625kg.

The 5-speed manual 1,798cc petrol car is being sold from Sh1.3 million.

He said the car’s body is built using tubular steel frame to reduce build and repair costs.

“This is a highly affordable, functional and durable vehicle, it is designed and built for the African market.”

“The vehicle has been driven over 2,500 kms around Kenya on varied terrain and proved its rugged capability,” he adds.

The company started its operations in Mombasa but is now based in Nairobi.

The firm builds inexpensive vehicles using off-the-shelf parts with a durable and safe tubular steel frame.

Mobius started the assembly of five units and plans to increase production to more than 500 units from 2018.
