Kenya: Police Arrest Nairobi’s ‘Notorious’ Car Thief


Police have nabbed a man they say is a ‘notorious’ car thief in Nairobi.

The suspect’s official name, according to the authorities, is Edwin Mwiti although he also goes around by the alias Geoffrey Mwangi Muthee.

He hails from Tharaka Nithi County but is understood to frequent the capital.

Anyone with information on the man’s activities is asked to forward it to Kilimani Police station in Nairobi.

Meanwhile, Mwiti was arrested with five national identity cards and the police has asked their owners to collect them.

The identification cards belong to:

1. Mercy Njeri Matheri – ID 24142926 (Kiambu)

2. Teresa Wangechi Wanjiku – ID 23175839 (Nyeri Central)

3. Hillary Kibathi Mburu – ID 0317600 (Thika)

4. Felister Wairimu Mburu – ID 21157473 (Muranga)

5. Timothy Muriithi Mugambi – ID 20376631 Duplicate (Tharaka Nithi)
