Subaru’s all-new RWD compact sports car is based on the BRZ but the exclusive 2.0-liter boxer 4-cylinder engine has been lowered by 120mm and moved 240mm closer to the chassis’ center giving it an extremely low center-of-gravity. There are no official output figures as yet, but given the engine has the Toyota direct-injection system, high power and efficiency is assured; while lightweight 18-inch alloys, STI-tuned suspension and Brembo brakes, should make for awesome handling considering its intimacy with the tarmac. Stylistically, the hexagonal lower front grille, hawk eye headlights and fin-shaped fog lamps combine to give the BRZ a distinctive Subaru look, and the STI performance touches include a STI-made lower front spoiler and rear wing. At the rear, Subaru has fitted fender flares, a large diffuser and twin dual tailpipes, and the acclaimed carbon-fiber roof has also been included. Finished in WR Blue Pearl II, an evolution of the iconic WR blue paint, the overall racing image of the STI has been nicely emphasized.
