A lorry transporting cabbages on the Nairobi-Nakuru highway in Limuru yesterday overturned after the driver swerved to avoid hitting a matatu.
No one was injured. Witnesses said the matatu driver pulled over at the Nakuru bus stage and made a U-turn to head back to Nairobi.
The lorry driver behind the opposite lane hooted but the matatu driver proceeded and to avoid an accident, the truck driver swerved off the road and overturned.
“We heard the lorry driver hooting as he tried to brake, but it was too late because the matatu was speeding. It scratched the lorry and the driver swerved off the road and the vehicle overturned ,”witness Charles Kariuki said.
Both vehicles were towed to Tigoni police station.
