Three months ago, when Kenya struck oil, the citizenry received the news with jubilation. Despite a few voices expressing fears that the country could slide into civil strife because of the resource, the dominant sentiment was that it would help stabilise the soaring cost of fuel.

Oil marketer says pump prices set to rise by Sh2.50

The Energy Regulatory Commission announces new fuel prices for the next one month today with high expectations of an upward revision. KenolKobil, a leading oil marker, said Wednesday it expected pump prices to increase by Sh2.50 per litre to about Sh118, promising more pain for motorists and commuters.
