Five primary school children have been killed after a lorry hit a tractor and rammed into children who were standing along the road at Chimoi along the Eldoret-Webuye road.
The children who were pupils at Chimoi primary school were waiting to cross the road to head for lunch when the accident occurred. A boda boda operator was also died in the accident.
Traffic Officer Francis Mberia who is at the scene said several other children were injured in the grisly accident.
Mberia says the lorry was heading to Webuye and lost control hitting the tractor which them rammed into a group of school children. Those injured have been taken to Webuye District Hospital for treatment and some of them are said to be in critical condition.
