Four people were killed and four others seriously injured on Thursday morning in a road accident involving a 14-seater matatu and a lorry at Stima Ntulele area on the Narok-Mai Mahiu road.
According to Narok East Police Commander Mwenda Muthama, the lorry was being driven towards Mai Mahiu at high speed when the driver lost control of the vehicle and collided head on with the matatu which was heading on the opposite direction.
Four occupants of the matatu including the driver died on the spot, with four other passengers being rushed to Narok County Referral Hospital with serious injuries.
The driver of the lorry is reported to have escaped after the accident with hunt for him being launched.
Bodies of the deceased were moved to the Narok County Referral Hospital mortuary.
