The National Transport and Safety Authority has issued temporary driving licenses for specific vehicles to travel out of their designated routes during this festive season.
NTSA Director General Francis Meja says this is due to the increased travel plans by Kenyans.
According to Meja licensing is based on merit of compliance with the NTSA rules and traffic laws.
Meja has however warned that any public service vehicle found to be operating out of its designated route risks losing their license.
NTSA has also urged Kenyans to report public service vehicles that have hiked fares for possible repercussions.
Kenyans have been traveling to the countryside in large numbers since last week for the festive season
