Toyota Kenya is now receiving entries for the 14th edition of the Toyota Dream Car Art contest 2021, which is open to children across the country. Under a new format, winning individual entries and schools stand to win cash prize of Ksh500,000 and Ksh1,000,000 for educational purposes respectively.

The Toyota Dream Car Art Contest is a CSR initiative of Toyota Motor Corporation Japan to develop the innate artistic talent in children and to cultivate an enduring relationship with them. The 14th edition invites children across Kenya with ideas about the future of mobility by drawing their dream cars. The contest also helps nurture the creativity of the next generation of great inventors, thinkers, and dreamers.

Toyota Kenya Managing Director, Arvinder Reel said, ‘’The competition encourages children to showcase their creative talent by designing cars that focus on causes important to them. Every year we’re amazed at the awareness shown from the entrants who design cars that focus on real-world issues. Previously, the winning artworks included vehicles that used solar and electric power, vision cars with virtual reality technology for the blind, and a moving laboratory that invented “antibodies” to fight the coronavirus just to mention a few. ”

Winners of the Toyota Dream Car Art Contest are chosen from three age categories (under 8 years old; 8-11 years old; and 12-15 years old), with judging based on three criteria: artistry, uniqueness, and execution of concept.

Entry forms including inspiration from previous winning designs and full competition terms and conditions, can be found on the {https://toyotakenya.com/dream-car/}, with the participants having till 30th January to submit their entries.

In the just concluded 13th edition, Toyota Kenya received over 400 entries from children across the country.
