After seeing the 2015 WRX at the 2013 Los Angeles Auto Show , Subaru announced that the STI version will be unveiled on January 14th at the 2014 Detroit Auto Show . No details were revealed by the company, except this basic teaser image that only announces the car is coming.
However, while Subaru wants to keep it a secret, rumors suggest that the WRX STI could be powered by a turbocharged, 2.5-liter, four-cylinder engine that delivers about 300 horsepower — a 32-horsepower increase over the base WRX, which uses a 2.0-liter, four-cylinder boxer engine with 268 horsepower.
Also you should expect the WRX STI to feature a more aggressive look, thanks to an updated aerodynamic kit that will include wider body panels and a large rear wing to force the rear axle toward the pavement. Also expect to see a set of exclusive wheels, a high-performance braking system and a tighter suspension on the STI model.
We’ll keep you updated as more information rolls out.
So what are your thoughts on the new look Subaru WRX STi?
