Tips to buying a car

  1. Always decide the budget you can afford to buy the car. Since you are buying the used car always include price of the Car, repairs and maintenance cost of the car, Car insurance and so on.
  2. Decide the Car you would like to buy. The best option would be to go for a mid-sized car as these cars are available at great bargains.
  3. You can also take a test drive of the car and check its efficiency and comfort. It would be more preferable if you take a test drive on different types of roads. Have a drive for at least 10 to 15 miles to ensure the smoothness of the car.
  4. Find out how old is the car you are going to buy. Try to buy a car which is two to eight years or old. Buying a two to eight years old car would probably be a great deal as this will give you an opportunity to drive the latest model. It would be asking for trouble if you decide to go for a much older car.
  5. If you are not 100% satisfied by the car avoid buying it. Don’t just buy a car since it is cheap as this might turn into a big expense in the long term.

Tips to selling a car

  1. Fix up your car before you sell it: If there is any repair work to be done fix it. You can also attract your car’s customers by waxing your car, vacuum inside and gloss up the tires. The better your car looks the higher chance you stand for getting a good price.
  2. Workout the price you will be selling the car for: Be confident about your price range. Always negotiate up from the factory invoice price, not down from the sticker price, which is a higher price than the dealer expects to pay. It would be advisable that you fix the price high so as to include the minimal profit for the dealer.
  3. Be prepared before the first buyer shows up. Make printouts from several internet car pricing sites showing the market value of your cat. Avoid printing the trade in values, that’s what car dealers offer you.
  4. Be ready for any answer to the buyer’s issues. Incase he complaints about the scratches or mark stain to your car. Tell him its normal wear for any car of that age and mileage, that’s why you are not asking the price of a new car.
