Fifteen matatu operators in Migori County are expected to be arraigned in court this week over traffic-related offences.

According to Migori County Police boss Joseph Nthenge, the 15 suspects were arrested in a traffic crackdown that began on Friday last week and continued through the Easter holiday.

Over 20 public service vehicles were also impounded during the operation with the suspects being released on police bond pending arraignment on Tuesday.

Mr. Nthenge said the 15 offenders are facing various charges including reckless driving, overloading among others.

He added that the operation will continue, to ensure that all traffic offenders are subjected to necessary legal action.

The county police boss insisted that traffic rules must be adhered to by all road users including bodaboda riders.
