Driving schools in Mombasa County want the suspension of implementation of the New driving and training instructors’ curriculum by the National Transport and Safety Authority until it is enacted as law.
According to Coast Driving Schools Association Chairman Mr John Magara, the new curriculum draft needs to be subjected to public scrutiny as it has been implemented before it was enacted.
He termed the current driving license categories being issued as illegal as they lack the backing of the law. NTSA Road Safety Deputy Director Dr Duncan Cheruiyot said the driving schools were in the know of the new system that has been on since 2014.
