While our attention has been focused on Geneva this past week, time hasn’t stood still on models that didn’t make the show, such as this modestly upgraded Land Rover Freelander. Better known to our US readers as the LR2, for 2015 Land Rover has announced a series of updates, including a new premium HSE Luxury spec. Dubbed the Metropolis in the UK and Russia, the luxury trim level includes body-colored sills, door handles and mirror caps, Atlas-colored grille and vents, and a set of 19-inch Sparkle Silver alloys.
Inside, adjustable Windsor leather electric seats and Grand Black lacquer trim give the cabin a more premium feel. The Freelander XS receives similar upgrades as well as Dark Atlas grille bars and side vents, 17-inch Anthracite alloys, Partial Leather/Dinamica electric seats available in Ebony/Lunar or Almond/Nutmeg, and a new ‘upgrade pack’ that offers a Meridian sound system, sat-nav, automatic headlamps and rain sensing windscreen wipers. Finally, Land Rover has introduced a new Dynamic Exterior pack that adds a tailgate-mounted spoiler, 19-inch ten-spoke alloys, gloss black trim and bright exhaust finishers. Inside, upgrades include two-tone power-adjustable Dynamic leather seats.
