Governor Alfred Mutua has said police patrol is key in boosting security in Machakos County.
The fleet, that he plans to double in the next financial year, is part of a security programme that Mr Mutua launched on Thursday.
“Security is not a National Government or County Government issue only. I am asking all of us to discourage crime by not buying goods they know or suspect are stolen and also to identify and report criminals in their neighbourhood to the authorities,” he said.
The Governor added that enhancing security would create an enabling environment for 24-hour business operation which is key to providing employment, generating wealth and fighting poverty.
