A BRAVE driver saved a man’s life after BENDING the door of his flaming car to get him out.
Bob Renning, 52, was driving along when he spotted smoke pouring from the car behind. The driver of the flaming vehicle didn’t realise his car was on fire until the heroic Renning, slowed down to try and get his attention.
The burning SUV, being driven by Michael Johannes, then stopped working completely and rolled onto the side of the road. It was then that the courageous Renning leapt from his car and came to the rescue.
Now engulfed with smoke, Johannes tried frantically to open the door and window but the electrics had failed, trapping him inside. Quick-thinking Renning gripped the door with his fingertips… and pulled. He somehow managed to bend the metal enough so the window shattered and he was able to drag Johannes to safety.
Minnesota State Trooper Zachery Hill, who was quick to arrive on the scene said, “He bent the door in half using superhuman strength.” Relieved Johannes says he plans to call Renning very soon and thank him.
