With a 315 hp turbo engine, Subaru aims to sell another driver car.
Subaru is continuing to stretch the performance limits of its STI sub-brand and this time with the fifth iteration of its “s” series. Those are tuned-up cars of already tuned-up variants of the Subaru WRX Impreza STI. The 2.0-liter four-cylinder turbocharged engine has been enhanced through a weight balance between piston, connecting rod and optimized crankshaft, ECU and improved turbocharger. It now has an output of 315hp and 318 lb-ft. The suspension system has been strengthened with Bilstein shock absorbers, flexible tower bar and flexible draw stiffener at the front that according to Subaru improve its straight line speed (though that datum was not revealed) and the car’s motion is steadied when going into corners so that precise and quick turning is possible. The S206 sits on 19-inch BBS alloy wheels with Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires. Brembo 6-pot brake caliper is at the front with 18-inch 2-piece type drilled disk rotors and a Brembo 4-pot with 18-inch drilled disk rotors at the rear.
