After the horrific natural disasters that struck Japan last March, we tip our hats to the organizers of this year’s Tokyo Motor Show for making sure their country’s premiere automotive event took place at all. By no means was it easy, but they have a lot to be proud of. And now Audi has just unveiled their A1 Samurai Blue which features the look and colors of the Japanese national soccer team. The German automaker created it to show their respect to the Japanese team and they plan to sell it as a one-off and donate part of the profit to charity. ”Blue Samurai” is actually the nickname for Japan’s national soccer team. Blue and white are the colors that both men’s and women’s teams wear on their jerseys. At the moment, the men’s team is the reigning Asian champions and the women won the championship title in the World Soccer Cup in Germany. In addition to the A1 Samurai Blue’s blue and white exterior, it also features the Japanese flag and 18-inch wheels with an exclusive polygonal design. The all black interior has contrasting stitching in blue and corresponding colored accents for the air vents, inlays, center console, and floor mats. Power comes from the 1.4-liter TFSI with 122hp. Audi also stated they plan to sell a special edition A1 this year that’s based on the Samurai Blue.
