Audi S5 Marks End of V8 Power.

The end of the V8-powered S5 Coupe is nigh, an occasion that is being marked with the release of a special edition. Audi announced last week at the Detroit Auto Show that refreshed 2013 A5 and S5 models would soon be launched in Coupe and Cabriolet variants in the US. The biggest change of the facelift, aside from a few styling tweaks, is replacing the S5′s 4.2-liter naturally-aspirated V8 with a new 3.0-liter supercharged V6 rated at 333hp and 325lb-ft. Audi are marking the end of the V8-powered S5 Coupe with a limited production edition, although they’ve not exactly been forthcoming with the details. Thankfully Audi Exchange, an official dealership in Highland Park Illinois, shared some of the specs with Car scoop. First up, only 125 cars will be manufactured boasting the Prestige Package plus a selection of bespoke features. These include 19-inch Titanium alloys and a ‘Daytona Gray’ pearl effect. Inside Polar Silver and Black S Sport Seats have been fitted, silver stitching features on the seats, armrests, shifter and steering wheel, there’s carbon-fiber inlays with Piano Black instrument cluster surround, and special badging appears on the door panels and sills.
