No Law to Force Matatu’s to Screen Passengers

There is no law in place to force Matatu operators to screen passengers and luggage. Lawyer Ndung’u Wainaina says the government should first come up with the law to effectively fight rising cases of terrorism targeting public transport.

At the same-time, Simon Kimutai from the Matatu Owners Association says although its important for operators to beef up security, the police should not arrest them for failing to screen passengers.
